PIPFF610 Flange Facer

The PIINC PIPFF610 Portable Flange Facer is a lightweight, internally mounted flange machining machine designed for on-site facing, beveling, turning, and sealing groove machining. With a facing range of 50–610 mm (2–24 inches) and a clamping range of 50–558 mm (2–22 inches), the PIPFF610 provides a versatile solution for maintaining and repairing pipe, valve, and pump flanges.

Designed for field machining, the PIPFF610 can machine standard and compact flange faces, O-ring grooves, lens-ring grooves, RTJ (Ring Type Joint) grooves, and other sealing features. It also supports weld preparation operations, making it suitable for a range of flange maintenance and repair tasks.

The machine features a modular construction, quick-set adjustable clamping jaws, and a three-piece mounting base assembly to facilitate installation and alignment. Available with either a pneumatic or electric drive, the PIPFF610 offers flexibility for different site power arrangements and machining requirements.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Internal-Mount Design for On-Site Machining

The PIPFF610 uses an internal mounting system to secure the machine within the flange. Its portable design makes it suitable for field machining applications where removing the flange or transporting the component to a workshop may be inconvenient.

2. Wide Flange Facing Range

With a specified facing range of 50–610 mm (2–24 inches), the PIPFF610 accommodates a broad range of flange sizes. Its machining capabilities support maintenance of pipe, valve, and pump flanges.

3. Versatile Facing and Groove Machining

The PIPFF610 is designed to perform multiple flange machining operations, including:

• Standard flange facing

• Compact flange facing

• O-ring groove machining

• Lens-ring groove machining

• RTJ groove machining

• Other groove machining

• Weld preparation

• Beveling and turning of suitable flange surfaces

This versatility allows the machine to address different flange surface and sealing-groove requirements using one portable machining system.

4. Three-Piece Mounting Base Assembly

The machine is supplied with three high-strength alloy structural steel mounting bases, steel threaded inserts, and adjustable feet. This mounting arrangement supports centering, leveling, and alignment during installation.

The three-piece base design also helps simplify setup for on-site flange machining.

5. Quick-Set Adjustable Clamping Jaws

The quick-set adjustable clamping jaws are designed to facilitate installation and positioning across the machine's specified clamping range of 50–558 mm (2–22 inches).

6. Modular Construction for Machining Accuracy

The PIPFF610 features a modular design and high-strength construction intended to support accurate machining. Its mounting and adjustment features help establish the machine's position before cutting.

7. Pneumatic or Electric Drive Options

The PIPFF610 is available with two drive options:

• Pneumatic motor: 0.8 kW (1.2 HP)

• Electric motor: 1.2 kW

These options provide flexibility when selecting a drive system for the intended working environment.

8. Controlled Cutting Depth

The specified maximum cutting depths are:

• Flanges without bolt holes: Up to 1 mm (0.039 inches)

• Flanges with bolt holes: Up to 0.5 mm (0.020 inches)

These values provide reference limits for planning flange resurfacing operations.

9. Efficient Setup and Installation

The PIPFF610 uses quick-mount components to simplify installation. According to the original product description, an experienced operator can complete setup within approximately one hour when following the appropriate operating procedure. Actual installation time depends on the working conditions and mounting requirements.
