PIPFFD3500 OD Mount Flange Facer

The PIINC PIPFFD3500 OD-Mounted Flange Facer is a portable, externally mounted, single-point machining machine designed for precision flange facing, resurfacing, and repair of extra-large industrial flanges. Its outside-diameter (OD) mounting configuration allows the machine to be installed on the outer diameter of a flange, supporting in-situ machining for industrial maintenance, repair, and fabrication projects.

With an OD clamping diameter of 117–138 inches (2972–3505 mm) and a facing diameter range of 0–3505 mm (0–138 inches), the PIPFFD3500 is designed for demanding large-flange machining applications. Its portable design supports on-site machining of large components, helping maintenance teams carry out flange repair where the workpiece is installed.

The PIPFFD3500 is designed for flange facing and resurfacing, including machining of O-ring grooves, ring-type joint (RTJ) grooves, V-grooves, and lens ring surfaces. Depending on the selected configuration, additional operations may include milling, beveling, squaring, counterboring, and weld-end preparation.

Key Features and Benefits

1. External OD-Mounting Design

The PIPFFD3500 mounts to the outside diameter of the flange, providing a practical solution for machining flange faces directly at the job site. This configuration is intended for field maintenance and repair of large industrial components.

2. Extra-Large-Diameter Machining Capability

With an OD clamping range of 117–138 inches and a stated facing diameter of up to 138 inches, the PIPFFD3500 is designed for extra-large flange resurfacing and repair applications.

3. Versatile Single-Point Flange Machining

The machine is designed for single-point flange facing and resurfacing, with applications that include:

• Flange face refacing and resurfacing

• O-ring groove machining

• RTJ (ring-type joint) groove machining

• V-groove machining

• Lens ring surface machining

• Counterboring

• Weld preparation

4. Flexible Machining Configurations

Depending on the selected configuration, PIPFFD-series machines can be arranged for flange facing, milling, or combined operations. This flexibility supports different machining, maintenance, and fabrication requirements. Confirm the specific functions available for the PIPFFD3500 configuration.

5. Portable Design for Field Maintenance

Developed for on-site machining and repair, the PIPFFD3500 supports flange work directly at the installation site. This can be particularly useful when dealing with large components that are difficult to transport to a conventional machine shop.

6. Mounting and Alignment Options

The PIPFFD series is designed to facilitate field setup. Larger models may use independent mounting systems or chucks to assist with alignment and installation. The specific mounting arrangement for the PIPFFD3500 should be confirmed with the manufacturer.
