PIPLB50IMP Line Boring Machine

The PIINC PIPLB50IMP Portable Line Boring Machine is a modular, portable machining system designed for on-site bore repair and precision machining in heavy equipment maintenance and large steel structure applications. Its compact design and flexible installation options make it suitable for machining in confined spaces, including challenging horizontal and vertical working positions.

Ideal for repairing earthmoving equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, the PIPLB50IMP can also be combined with an optional automatic bore welding system to support integrated internal diameter (I.D.), external diameter (O.D.), and face welding operations.

With a standard boring diameter range of 55–400 mm and an optional configuration extending down to 35 mm, the PIPLB50IMP offers flexible machining capabilities for a variety of field repair requirements. Its independently positionable rotational drive and feed units, high-strength alloy steel boring bar, and expandable accessory options provide a versatile solution for maintenance contractors and industrial repair professionals.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Compact and Modular Design

The PIPLB50IMP features a modular structure that allows the machine to be assembled and dismantled conveniently for field operations. Its compact configuration is particularly suitable for machining large steel structures and heavy equipment in restricted-access areas where conventional machine tools may be difficult to install.

The machine can be installed in horizontal or vertical positions, providing flexibility for different workpiece geometries and job-site conditions.

2. Flexible Drive and Feed Unit Positioning

The rotational drive unit and automatic feed unit can be mounted at different positions along the boring bar to accommodate specific machining requirements and installation constraints.

The rotational drive unit weighs approximately 5 kg, while the feed unit weighs approximately 7 kg, helping simplify handling and positioning during setup.

The feed system features stepless adjustment within the specified range of 0–0.5 mm, with forward and reverse operation to support flexible machining control.

3. High-Strength Alloy Steel Boring Bar

The PIPLB50IMP uses a boring bar made from high-quality alloy structural steel. Its strength and rigidity are designed to support machining stability and cutting accuracy during on-site boring operations.

Three standard boring bar lengths are available to accommodate different applications:

• 1,828 mm

• 2,438 mm

• 3,500 mm

Customized boring bar lengths are also available to suit specific project requirements.

4. Powerful 1800 W Electric Drive

The standard drive power unit features an 1800 W electric motor, providing the drive power required for portable line boring operations.

The machine supports a maximum cutting depth of up to 6 mm, depending on machining conditions and application requirements.

5. Integrated Measuring Tools

The PIPLB50IMP is equipped with a bore cutter measuring tool and a diameter measuring ruler. These tools assist operators in checking cutter dimensions and boring diameters during setup and machining, helping support dimensional control and consistent field repair results.

6. Expandable Boring and Facing Capabilities

The PIPLB50IMP offers optional tooling and accessories to accommodate a wider range of machining tasks.

• Optional Small-Diameter Boring Bar: An optional Ø30 mm boring bar configuration enables boring diameters from Ø35 mm to Ø400 mm.

• Optional Facing Heads: Two facing head sizes are available, supporting facing diameters from Ø80 mm to Ø450 mm.

• Optional Automatic Bore Welders: Compatible optional BW350 and BW360 automatic bore welding systems can be used to support combined boring and welding repair operations.

• Integrated Machining and Welding: When configured with a suitable automatic bore welder, the system can support internal diameter (I.D.), external diameter (O.D.), and face welding applications.

These configuration options allow the PIPLB50IMP to be adapted to different repair requirements without limiting the system to basic line boring operations.
