High-pressure ball valves are categorized into three primary structural types:
Floating Ball Valve: Designed with a floating ball that displaces under medium pressure to press tightly against the outlet sealing surface, ensuring a secure seal. Because the sealing and spherical surfaces often remain in a closed state, they resist medium erosion. They are suitable for general working media (water, solvent, acid, natural gas) as well as harsh conditions (oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, ethylene), finding wide industry use (generally applied in medium and low pressure).
Top-Mounted Ball Valve: Engineered for fast, easy inline disassembly and maintenance. When repairs are needed, there is no requirement to remove the valve from the pipeline; technicians simply remove the middle flange bolts and nuts, lift off the valve cover and stem assembly, and extract the ball and seat assembly for quick on-line maintenance, saving time and minimizing production losses.
Fixed Ball Valve: Designed with special consideration for strength, safety, and harsh environment resistance, making it suitable for long-distance pipelines and general industrial use with both corrosive and non-corrosive media. Fluid force on the ball is transmitted directly to a bearing, preventing the ball from moving toward the seat and eliminating excessive seat pressure. This results in minimal seat deformation, stable sealing, and extended service life—making it ideal for high-pressure and large-caliber applications. It features an advanced spring-pre-seat assembly with self-tightening characteristics for upstream sealing. Equipped with two seats, it allows bi-directional sealing with no flow restrictions during installation (generally installed horizontally).
