PIPLB150 Line Boring Machine

The PIINC PIPLB150 Portable Line Boring Machine is a modular, heavy-duty machining system designed for on-site boring and repair of large-diameter holes in demanding marine, industrial, and infrastructure applications. With a 150 mm boring bar diameter and a stated boring diameter range of Ø260–1,500 mm, the PIPLB150 is designed to handle large components that require specialized machining and flexible installation arrangements.

Its modular construction allows the rotational drive unit to be mounted at different positions along the boring bar, while the automatic feed unit can be installed at either end. This flexible configuration helps accommodate different workpiece geometries and challenging job-site conditions.

The PIPLB150 is particularly suitable for marine repair applications, including ship rudder bores, stern shaft holes, and rudder blade holes. It can also be used for machining suitable shaft pin holes and components associated with turbine units, bridges, water conservancy projects, and heavy machinery.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Large-Diameter Boring Capability

The PIPLB150 is designed for large-scale bore machining, with a stated boring diameter range of Ø260–1,500 mm. This capacity makes it suitable for machining and repairing oversized bores in marine structures, heavy machinery, and other large industrial components.

Its portable design allows machining equipment to be brought directly to the workpiece, making it a practical option when transporting large components to a conventional machine shop is difficult.

2. Modular Design and Flexible Installation

The PIPLB150 features a modular structure designed to simplify installation, maintenance, and configuration.

• The rotational drive unit can be mounted at different positions along the boring bar.

• The automatic feed unit can be installed at either end of the boring bar.

• Modular components allow the system to be configured for different machining arrangements.

• Multiple mounting kit options support a variety of workpiece geometries and installation conditions.

These features provide flexibility for field machining operations in shipyards, industrial facilities, and other locations where access and setup requirements can be challenging.

3. Boring Stroke Adaptable to the Boring Bar Length

The boring stroke is determined by the length of the boring bar, allowing the machining configuration to be adapted to different workpiece dimensions and operating requirements.

This design provides flexibility when machining long or large components, subject to the selected boring bar length and machine configuration.

4. Modular Boring Head with Micro-Adjustment

The PIPLB150 features a modular boring head designed for convenient installation and maintenance. Its micro-adjustment mechanism supports fine adjustments during machining, helping operators achieve the required bore dimensions and machining quality.

This feature is particularly valuable for large-diameter bore repair, where precise adjustment is important to achieving the specified finished dimensions.

5. Multiple Mounting Kits for Different Applications

The PIPLB150 offers several mounting configurations to accommodate different workpieces and installation conditions:

• Three-Arm Mounting Kit: For suitable boring setups requiring a three-arm arrangement.

• Four-Arm Mounting Kit: Provides an alternative mounting configuration for applicable workpieces.

• ID Mounting Kit: Designed for internal-diameter mounting applications.

• Adjustable ID Mounting Kit: Offers adjustable internal-diameter mounting to suit different setup requirements.

These mounting options help support stable machine installation and accurate alignment across a range of machining applications.

6. Powerful Hydraulic Drive with Optional Servo Drive

The PIPLB150 comes standard with a heavy-duty hydraulic drive system designed to provide strong, consistent power for large-scale machining operations.

An electric servo drive option is also available for users who require an alternative drive configuration. This choice allows the machine to be specified according to the intended application and available operating setup.

7. Versatile Facing, Groove, and Bevel Machining

In addition to line boring, the PIPLB150 incorporates features that support additional machining operations.

• Quick-Set Adjustable Clamping Jaws: Facilitate machine setup and positioning.

• Swivel Toolpost: Supports groove and bevel machining.

• Continuous Groove Geared Feed: Provides geared feed functions for facing and boring operations.

These functions extend the machine's versatility for specialized repair and maintenance work.
