PIPFF300 OD Mount Flange Facer

The PIINC PIPFF300 OD Mount Flange Facer is a portable, gear-driven, single-point machining machine designed for on-site flange facing and flange surface repair. Its external-mount configuration and adjustable four-jaw mounting arrangement provide a practical solution for machining a variety of flange faces and sealing surfaces.

With a facing range of 0–12 inches and a clamping range of 2–12 inches, the PIPFF300 is suitable for flange refacing, O-ring grooves, ring-type joint (RTJ) grooves, V-grooves, lens ring surfaces, weld preparation, and counterboring applications.

The PIPFF300 features a modular structure, precision bearings, a stable main body, and adjustable mounting and jacking legs to support alignment and setup at the job site. Quick-set adjustable clamping jaws help simplify installation, while the standard 0.75 kW (1.1 HP) pneumatic motor provides the drive power for on-site machining. An electric motor is available as an option.

Key Features and Benefits

1. External-Mount Design

The PIPFF300 is designed for external mounting on flanges, providing access for machining flange faces and sealing features. Its portable design makes it suitable for on-site flange repair and maintenance work.

2. Versatile Flange Machining Applications

The machine supports a range of single-point machining tasks, including:

• Flange face refacing

• O-ring groove machining

• RTJ (ring-type joint) groove machining

• V-groove machining

• Lens ring surface machining

• Weld preparation

• Counterboring

3. Quick-Set Adjustable Four-Jaw Mounting

The adjustable four-jaw mounting arrangement features quick-set clamping jaws to help simplify machine positioning and installation. Adjustment legs and jacking legs support setup and alignment at the work site.

4. Precision Bearings and Stable Main Body

Precision bearings and a stable main body provide support for controlled machining. The modular structural design and high-strength materials are intended to support reliable performance in flange repair applications.

5. Dual Leadscrew Options

The PIPFF300 is equipped with two leadscrews with different pitches: 1.75 pitch and 3.0 pitch. The 3.0-pitch leadscrew is specified for producing a gramophone finish on lens ring surfaces.

6. Adjustable Tool Post

The tool post has preset positions at 0°, 23°, and −23°, offering defined tool-positioning options for different machining requirements.

7. Pneumatic Drive with Optional Electric Motor

The standard drive is a 0.75 kW (1.1 HP) pneumatic motor, with an electric motor available as an option. This allows users to select a drive configuration according to site conditions and available power sources.

8. Controlled Cutting Capability

The PIPFF300 can achieve a maximum cutting depth of 2 mm (0.079 in) on flanges without bolt holes or 0.5 mm (0.020 in) on flanges with bolt holes, according to the supplied product specifications.

9. Protective Metal Case

The machine is supplied with a metal case for storage and transport.
