PIPLB60 Line Boring Machine

The PIINC PIPLB60 Portable Line Boring Machine is a compact, modular, and portable machining system designed for on-site bore repair and precision machining of large components. With a wide boring diameter range of 65–600 mm, the PIPLB60 is suitable for machining internal bores, concentric holes, and pipe ends in demanding field service environments.

Designed for heavy equipment maintenance and industrial repair, the PIPLB60 features a modular structure that allows installation in confined spaces and challenging working positions, including elevated locations. Its flexible mounting arrangement and powerful hydraulic drive make it a practical solution for repairing cranes, excavators, bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, and other large machinery without transporting the entire component to a conventional machine shop.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Compact and Modular Design

The PIPLB60 features a modular construction designed to simplify transportation, installation, and removal. Its compact configuration makes it suitable for on-site machining in restricted-access areas where conventional machine tools may be difficult to position.

The rotational drive unit and feed unit can be mounted at different positions along the boring bar, allowing the machine layout to be adapted to the workpiece and available installation space.

2. Lightweight Drive and Feed Units

The rotational drive unit weighs approximately 9.5 kg, while the feed unit weighs approximately 8 kg, making the individual components easier to handle and position during setup.

The feed system provides stepless adjustment within the specified range of 0–0.5 mm, with forward and reverse operation to accommodate different machining requirements.

3. High-Strength Alloy Steel Boring Bar

The PIPLB60 uses a boring bar manufactured from high-quality alloy structural steel, providing the strength and rigidity needed for demanding on-site machining applications.

Standard boring bar lengths include:

• 2,000 mm

• 2,500 mm

• 3,000 mm

• 3,500 mm

• 4,000 mm

• 4,500 mm

Customized boring bar lengths are also available to suit specific project requirements.

4. Powerful Hydraulic Drive System

The standard drive power unit is an 18.5 kW hydraulic power unit, delivering a specified torque of 918 N·m. This drive configuration supports heavy-duty portable line boring applications and demanding field machining requirements.

The maximum cutting depth can reach 10 mm, depending on the machining conditions and application. An optional 2,500 W electric motor is also available for alternative drive configurations.

5. Flexible Clamping and Machining Functions

The PIPLB60 incorporates several features designed to support different machining operations:

• Quick-Set Adjustable Clamping Jaws: Facilitate clamping adjustments during machine setup.

• Swivel Toolpost: Supports groove machining and bevel machining.

• Continuous Groove Geared Feed: Provides geared feed functions for facing and boring operations.

These features expand the machine's versatility for on-site repair and machining tasks.

6. Expandable Boring, Facing, and Welding Capabilities

The PIPLB60 supports optional accessories that extend its machining range and repair capabilities.

• Optional Small-Diameter Boring Bar: An optional Ø35 mm boring bar configuration extends the boring diameter range down to Ø35 mm, with a maximum boring diameter of Ø600 mm.

• Optional Facing Heads: Two sizes of facing head are available for facing diameters ranging from Ø80 mm to Ø650 mm.

• Optional Automatic Bore Welders: Compatible BW350 and BW360 bore welding systems are available to support combined boring and welding repair operations.

These options allow the PIPLB60 to be configured for a broader range of machining and restoration applications.
